AMA Visits Miami 🌴

The AMA is so excited to finally announce a "behind the scenes" project that has been in the works for several months. This past week, the AMA staff and board representatives were in MIAMI! This trip gave us an incredible opportunity to meet with and learn from some of the best museums in the industry in order to help us continue propelling the AMA to new heights. Read more about the museums we visited and what we learned below.
The Rubell Museum - Miami
The Bass - Miami Beach
ICA Miami - Design District
On Our Own: Other Miami Museums
Pérez Art Museum Miami
Overlooking the water, the Pérez (PAMM) features spectacular hanging gardens, city and water views, and a collection of contemporary art. The PAMM's outdoor interactive sculptures allow for a fun afternoon with the kids in downtown Miami.

"The interactive art was amazing!"
- Advisory Board Member Paula Pierson
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a former villa and estate belonging to businessman James Deering. The estate features beautifully manicured sprawling gardens, a spectacular waterfront lawn, and a home built to look like something out of the European countryside.

"The historical architecture and interior design was stunning! We could have explored their gardens all day."
- Marketing Coordinator Lily Williams
Wynwood
This Miami neighborhood is known for its murals and public art. It's becoming one of the trendiest neighborhoods for small businesses and artists. The AMA loved experiencing the public art and strong community establishing in Wynwood.

"The Wynwood Walls and surrounding neighborhood are bursting with energy! Throughout the neighborhood, the streets and buildings are covered with street art, graffiti and murals that showcase a vibrant explosion of talent and color!"
- Board Member Tonya Rosenberger
South Beach, Miami Beach
On our first day in Miami, the AMA group strolled the colorful and vibrant Ocean Avenue, taking in the Art Deco architecture and ocean breeze. The buildings transport visitors back in time, while also allowing them to experience innovative culinary cuisine and fashion.

"Fantastic Art Deco and nightlife!" - Lorie White
